ROAD RESTRICTIONS
Order by the Vehicle Weight Committee

 

Order No. 2026-01 Defining Maximum Allowable Weights Permitted on Certain Municipal Roads. Pursuant to the authority granted under the provisions of By-Law No. 958-86 the Vehicle Weight Committee orders that effective Friday, March 20, 2026 at 9:00 a.m. percentage axle weights for highways are:

This Order rescinds Order No. 2025-02 and shall remain in effect until further notice.

Transportation Association of Canada (TAC)

This is commonly referred to as a TAC permit for tridem axles. As of January 1, 2021 the Commercial Regulation for Weights and Dimensions have changed, allowing for a weight increase on local roadways that match the legal weight on Provincial roads. The legal weight has increased to 23,000 kg on tridem drives and 24,000 on tridem trailers unless a permit has been acquired.
