September 21-27, 2026, Declared Rail Safety Week in the County of Minburn
The County of Minburn No. 27 is proud to recognize Rail Safety Week, a time dedicated to raising awareness about the importance of staying safe around railway crossings, tracks and trains.
Railways are an important part of our community and economy, but they can also present serious safety risks. Whether you are driving, walking, cycling or working near railway tracks, it is important to remain alert and follow all railway safety rules.
Remember:
- Always obey railway crossing signals, signs and gates.
- Never stop on the tracks or attempt to cross when warning signals are active.
- Stay off railway tracks and property unless you are in a designated crossing area.
- Trains cannot stop quickly and may be closer or moving faster than they appear.
- Avoid distractions when approaching railway crossings.
This Rail Safety Week, we encourage everyone to look, listen and stay safe around railway crossings. A few extra seconds of awareness can make all the difference.
Let’s work together to keep our community safe around the tracks.
