 Vegreville Transportation Services Society

The Vegreville Transportation Services Society (VTSS) is a community-based, charitable organization dedicated to providing accessible and affordable transportation for residents of Vegreville and surrounding areas. Established in 2004, VTSS began with a taxi voucher program and expanded in 2005 to include a Handivan service for individuals with mobility challenges.

Services Provided:

  • Taxi Voucher Program: Subsidized transportation for seniors, individuals with disabilities, and those with low income.
  • Wheelchair-Accessible Van (Handivan): Safe and reliable transportation for passengers with mobility needs, with costs subsidized by 40–70% based on financial circumstances.
  • Community Support: Priority is given to seniors (65+), people with permanent or temporary disabilities, and those facing financial barriers.

VTSS is funded through community partnerships, fundraising, and volunteer support. Its mission is to enhance mobility and independence for residents, ensuring they can access essential services and participate fully in community life.
