July Council Meeting Highlights

A Regular Council meeting was held on July 20, 2026, at the County Administration office in Vegreville. Council approved the following resolutions:

Subdivision File #08-2026

County Council conditionally approved subdivision file #08-2026 per the recommendations of the report.

Northern Lights Library System (NLLS) 2027 Levy-Proposed Increase

County Council approved the proposed 1.5% levy increase ($11.26 per capita) for municipalities without library boards in conjunction with NLLS's 2027 budget approval process.

Rail Safety Week Proclamation

County Council declared September 21, 2026 to September 27, 2026 to be Rail Safety Week in the County of Minburn.

Policy ASB 2012-01, Agricultural Pest Control

County Council approved new Policy ASB 2012-01, Agricultural Pest Control as presented.

Yield Sign Installations RR 155 and Twp Road 514, Division 6

County Council approved the installation of Yield signs on Range Road 155 at the intersection of Township Road 514.

Alberta Central East (ACE) Water Corporation Water Supply Request

County Council approved the request from Alberta Central East (ACE) Water Corporation to purchase water through the Minburn truck-fill station at a rate of $6.93 per cubic metre for the duration of the temporary construction project of 5 days, and limited to 4 truckloads per day.

Municipal Land for Sale Tender - Bid Acceptance

County Council accepted the following bids:

· $10,000 for Tax Forfeiture Property described as Block 7, Plan 5450CL in Minburn

· $5,500 for Tax Forfeiture Property described as Lot 23, Block 4 Plan 949Q in Lavoy

And further tabled a decision on the bids for Tax Forfeiture Property described as Lot 13-15, Block 6, Plan 8103S in Ranfurly pending a decision by the province on an existing caveat on title.

CAO Bylaw No. 1374-26

County Council gave third reading to CAO Bylaw No. 1374-26.

BF 72570 Bridge Replacement Funding

County Council directed Administration to fund the municipal contribution for the Bridge File 72570 replacement project from Bridge Reserves rather than through a debenture.

2026-2028 Auditing Services

County Council awarded the 2026-2028 Auditing Services contract to Wilde Advisory Group.
