October 4-10, 2026 Declared Fire Prevention Week
The County of Minburn is proud to proclaim October 4–10, 2026, as Fire Prevention Week.
Fire Prevention Week is an opportunity to raise awareness about fire safety and remind residents of the important steps we can all take to help prevent fires and protect our homes, families, and communities.
This week, we encourage residents to:
• Test your smoke and carbon monoxide alarms and replace batteries as needed.
• Review and practice your family’s home fire escape plan.
• Keep exits and hallways clear of clutter.
• Talk with children about fire safety and what to do in an emergency.
• Ensure everyone in your household knows how to call 9-1-1 and what to do if a fire occurs.
A few minutes of preparation can make a significant difference in an emergency.
Thank you to our local firefighters and emergency responders for their continued dedication to keeping our rural communities safe.
