Growing Futures Scholarship

The Growing Futures Scholarship is awarded annually to students who demonstrate academic achievement, community involvement, and a commitment to personal and professional growth. The program aims to foster future leaders who will make meaningful contributions to their communities, the local economy, and the broader agricultural industry.

Each year, the County allocates $2,000 to fund four scholarships of $500.

To qualify for the Growing Futures Scholarship, applicants must:

• Be a Canadian citizen or landed immigrant, and a resident of Alberta.
• Be graduating from one of the following schools:
  • Vegreville Composite High School
  • St. Mary’s Catholic School (Vegreville)
  • Innisfree Delnorte School
  • Mannville School
• Be a resident of:
  • The County of Minburn
  • The Town of Vegreville
  • The Village of Innisfree
  • The Village of Mannville
• Have applied to enroll in a post-secondary program within an agriculture-related field, such as agricultural business, agricultural production, mechanics, welding, or fabrication.
• Submit a completed application form before the deadline.

Applications are compiled by County Administration and forwarded to the Community Progress Scholarship Committee, consisting of elected Council members from Divisions 4, 6, and 7. Recipients are selected based on eligibility, merit, and demonstrated dedication to furthering their education.

Application Deadline: April 30 of each year

Selection Meeting: The Board reviews applications annually in October

Payment Disbursement: Scholarships are issued before December 31, once recipients provide proof of paid tuition or registration fees at an accredited post-secondary institution
