January 19, 2026

 

A Regular Council meeting was held on January 19, 2026, at the County Administration office in Vegreville.  Council approved the following resolutions:

 

Subdivision File #13-2025

Council moved to conditionally approve Subdivision File No. 13-2025 per the recommendations of the report.

 

Subdivision File #14-2025

Council moved to conditionally approve Subdivision File No. 14-2025 per the recommendations of the report.

 
“Buy a Lot for a Loonie" Program Amendment

County Council moved to increase the deposit for properties purchased under the "Buy a Lot for a Loonie" Program from $1,000 per lot to $5,000 per lot.

 

VTSS - Transportation Service Annual Funding Request

Council approved a financial contribution of $5,000 in support of the Vegreville Transportation Services Society (VTSS) transportation service.

 

Vegreville FCSS - Family Day Breakfast Funding Support for Advertising

County Council approved a financial contribution of $300 to the Town of Vegreville to support enhanced advertising for the 2026 Community Family Day Event.

 
Fleet Trucks 2026

County Council approved the purchase of two (2) 3/4-ton F250 4x4 SuperCab's from Vegreville Ford for a cost of $124,380.00 excluding GST.

 

Coulter's Gravel Crushing Project 2026

County Council awarded Paragon Custom Crushing a contract to complete the final crush at the Coulters gravel pit, based on 150,000 m³, for an estimated cost of $2,380,500.00, excluding GST, which includes stripping, crushing, and reclamation of the pit.

 

Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) Proposed Changes to Livestock Identification and Traceability Regulations

County Council directed Administration to draft a letter to the CFIA regarding Council’s concerns with the proposed changes to livestock identification and traceability requirements under Health of Animals Regulations.

 

Contact Alberta Central East (ACE) Water Corporation – Bulk Water Station

County Council moved to contact Alberta Central East (ACE) Water Corporation to discuss the possibility of establishing a bulk water station in the Vegreville area.

 

 
February County Council Meeting – Time Change

County Council approved to reschedule the time of the February 17, 2026, County Council meeting from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.

 

 
Bridge File (BF) 72570 - Division 2

County Council approved that BF 72570 be replaced in 2026 with a bridge-sized culvert, with the municipal portion of the capital costs being funded by way of a debenture.
