PARTIAL FIRE BAN

Effective May 1, 2018  a PARTIAL FIRE BAN has been declared for all of Minburn County including rural areas and hamlets. Burning barrels and campfires are allowed at this time. Fireworks are not allowed. Landowners who have recently burned brush piles or other debris are requested to check their burns and ensure the burn area is extinguished.

No new fire permits will be issued until the ban is lifted. Failure to comply with the fire ban will result in charges for fire response (as per County Bylaw #1209-11) and possible charges as per the Forest and Prairie Protection Act of Alberta.

Notice of Public Hearing – April 16, 2018

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

PURSUANT TO SECTIONS 230, 606, & 692 OF THE MUNICIPAL GOVERNMENT ACT, CHAPTER M-26, RSA 2000, AS AMENDED

The Council of the County of Minburn No. 27 has deemed it necessary to undertake an Area Structure Plan (ASP) for the Hamlet of Lavoy. The ASP Bylaw is a mid- to long-range land use planning document that considers what types of development should/could occur within the Hamlet. It is put into effect through the decisions made regarding subdivision and development applications on land within the ASP boundary. On February 20, 2018 County Council gave first reading to proposed Lavoy ASP Bylaw No. 1261-17.

A Public Hearing is scheduled for:

Monday, April 16, 2018, at 11:30 a.m. in the Council Chambers of the County of Minburn No. 27 located at 4909 – 50 Street, Vegreville, AB

The purpose of the hearing is to allow persons to make known their views with respect to proposed Bylaw No. 1261-17. Written comments regarding the proposed bylaw may be dropped off, or mailed to:

by 4:30 p.m. the weekday prior to the public hearing. Written comments must contain the name and address (legal land description) of the person(s) making the submission as well as their comments regarding proposed Bylaw No. 1261-17.

Should you wish to make a verbal presentation to Council at the Public Hearing, you must contact the County by 9:00 a.m. the day of the scheduled hearing at 780-632-2082 to register to speak.

Copies of proposed Bylaw No. 1261-17 are available for public inspection during regular office hours at the Municipalities’ offices.

Preparation of Combined Assessment/Tax Notices

PREPARATION OF COMBINED ASSESSMENT/TAX NOTICES
Notice is hereby given that the 2017 combined Assessment/Tax Notices have been prepared and mailed June 1, 2017 to all taxpayers as per Section 311 of the Municipal Government Act (MGA).

The Assessment Roll is available for review at the County of Minburn No. 27 office during business hours. Any person wishing to make a complaint about assessment must do so in accordance with Section 460 MGA within sixty (60) days from the date on the combined Assessment/Tax notice (Section 309(1)(c) MGA). A complaint must be in the form prescribed in Section 460(2) MGA and must be accompanied with the fees detailed on the back of the combined assessment/tax notice. This form is available at the County of Minburn No. 27 Administration office.

All assessed persons are deemed to have received their combined Assessment/Tax Notice as a result of this publication.
