WASTE TRANSFER STATION LABOURER/OPERATOR
The County of Minburn No. 27 invites applications for two part-time (preferably husband/wife team) Waste Transfer Station Labourers/Operators at the East Regional Waste Transfer Station located 2.50 kilometres west of the Village of Mannville.
The Waste Transfer Station Labourer/Operator works under the supervision of the Superintendent of Public Works and is responsible for the safe, efficient and effective operation of the solid waste transfer station as assigned by the County of Minburn.
Hours of Work: April 1 to November 30 – Mondays and Wednesdays from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and
Fridays and Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. December 1 to March 31 – Mondays and Wednesdays from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Other hours as approved by the Superintendent of Public Works.
A copy of the complete Waste Transfer Station Operator job description, Waste Handling Procedures Policy, wage and vehicle expense will be provided upon request.
-Good working knowledge of Safety Standards and Practices, First Aid including Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS). Training will be provided.
-Good verbal and written communication skills in English suitable for greeting public and preparing reports.
-Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions with exposure to the outdoor elements.
-Equipment operator experience (bobcat, loader, forklift).
-Use of own vehicle used for travel at the transfer station to supervise activities taking place at different areas of the site.
-Be in good physical condition.
